Dr. Alvin Diamond, recipient of the prestigious Wallace D. Malone, Jr. Distinguished Faculty Award and a professor of biology

Delivering this year's Honors Convocation address is Dr. Alvin Diamond, recipient of the prestigious Wallace D. Malone, Jr. Distinguished Faculty Award and a professor of biology. With 36 years of service to the University, Dr. Diamond has made enduring contributions to teaching, research and institutional growth. His leadership has been instrumental in restoring the 麻豆高清 Arboretum, expanding the 麻豆高清 Herbarium and advancing ecological research that has earned national recognition. These achievements include a National Science Foundation grant, recent honors from the Alabama Forestry Commission, and selection by NASA to receive a 鈥淢oon Tree鈥� seedling that orbited the moon during the 2022 Artemis I mission.

麻豆高清 will recognize excellence, achievement and service across the university community during its annual Honors Convocation at 2:30 pm. on April 21 in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the 麻豆高清 Campus.
